Gmc Acadia Open Source Software카테고리 없음 2020. 2. 23. 05:06
Wanted to start a thread about advanced use of Intellilink (Mylink) software and get opinions/insight about open source, code, possibilities for customization, rumors of firmware updates, etc. The 'claim' I've heard is that apps will be avaialable in the future, but it doesnt quite sound as simple and prolific as the google play store or itunes app store. There are some short threads about more specific issues like 'custom ROMs' for android.Does anyone have any particulalry cool 'ah-ha' moments with useful intellilink features they've discovered, or ones they'd like to see implemented?

Or things they aren't sure how they work. I for one don't know how they overlay the doplar radar on my weather/nav map, for example. That would be something if apps could be made available not through GM. Just look at how Android has changed computing. When the iPhone was new, androids were more or less a joke as competition. Open source turned them into what it is today!Android was not released when the iPhone appeared - and Android has always been open source;) Android Inc then Google a couple years later made sure to release the API and told you how to use the Linux SDKs before they got theirs up and going to program for the reengineering. Google once it bought the OS from Android has made everything available through the Apache system.
I can remember when they were ahead of Apple and Microsoft then Apple up and released the swipe interface and the race to change it was fun and interesting. Anyone know why GMC doesn't have iTunes as an app? I mean Pandora is cool but even that requires my iPhone to be connected to a USB port. The Intellilink should be able to upload my iTunes. The phone app automatically uploads contacts when the phone is paired. It would be nice to sync my iTunes directly into the truck so I can play my tunes without plugging into a USB.
Plus why are there arrows on my home screen if I don't have more than one screen of apps? They put those arrows on there to piss you off. To make you search and look and spend hours combing through forums to find nothing.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. Anyone know why GMC doesn't have iTunes as an app? This has been an on-going research project of mine. I discovered when I inquired about having the Trail Boss (TB) factory lift kit (GM part# 84629787) added to my 2019 LT Z71, that I could not have the kit installed due to the secondary composite leaf springs on my truck. Upon further investigation, I found that ONLY the LT with 5.3L (and LT with 3.0 diesel and short box) had the composite leaf springs preventing the truck from having a TB lift added. On the GMC side, I found out the Sierra Denali also uses the same leaf springs with composite secondary as the LT 5.3L.My first impression was, “why the heck would GM do this?” Why wouldn’t the LTZ or High Country (HC) have the the composite leaf? Why would only the mid-level LT have it? The Sierra Denali has it and it’s a $60K+ truck.
My LT averages around $45K. I might be a little upset as a LTZ or HC owner to find out my rear suspension is the same as on any Custom trim truck, or even, the base W/T model.I’ve doing a lot of reading on composite leaf springs and there are more advantages to them than disadvantages. Though they are dimensionally bigger (thicker) than the steel counterpart, they weight a lot less, last longer, and offer better damping properties than steel. GM has had a good track record using composite leaf springs.
The same technology has been used on the corvette since 1997 with the introduction of the C5.Disadvantages are minimal, such as, they are more expensive to produce, can burn up in a fire, and in this case, can’t be further bent or altered out of original specification. This must be the reason GM won’t allow the lift to be added to vehicles with a composite leaf. I’m sure the leaf could take the additional stress, GM engineers just want to play it safer than sorry. So with this, the Silverado LT 5.3L (and LT 3.0 diesel with short bed) and the Sierra Denali are the only trucks to use the composite leaf.
Though I’m disappointed I won’t be able to get the TB lift added, I’m now pretty stoked to find out my LT has more mechanical innovation put into the suspension and I didn’t have to spend $15K+ more for a Sierra Denali to get it.However with this, it seems that if someone is looking for a top-end truck, the Denali would be the better choice over the HC which lacks the particular composite leaf spring feature, if that mattered to the buyer. For reference, attached here are the GM compatibility charts for the Silverado and Sierra to see if you can add the TB lift kit. Also here is a link to the previous discussion about the TB lift kit where you can find more detail about installation and issues surrounding the composite leaf springs. I really like the bold/big muscular grille on the Sierra.
It stands out a lot on Denali with that massive chrome surround. However i don't like chrome. I think this contrast is somehow lost on the AT4 because of the body-colored grille surround. I'm in the process of trying to wrap or paint the grille surround on my AT4 to black but i want to keep my factory red grille surround in-case i ever decide to go back to the stock look.I was looking to buy just the grille surround, wrap or paint it and install. However, it seems the grille is available as one-piece only and you can't get just the surround alone.
The whole grille is fairly expensive, over $700. The alternative for me is to buy the accessories grille ($450) in black and just install. I think the accessories grille is the Elevation trim grille and because of my vanity 🙂, i don't want to install a Elevation grille on an AT4. I don't believe i can swap the insides.Anyone done this?Grille surround indicated in yellow.Accessories grille in black. GM recalls 160,000 pickup trucks in Canada for fire risks, nothing announced in US yetAs of right now there is a recall for all GM 1500's years 2014-2018 that have both a rear window defogger and a power sliding rear window.recall has not been expanded to the US.I Just got off the phone with GM and filed a request to have the recall expanded to the US. I would encourage everyone who this applies to in this forum to do the same.
